The board and staff are excited to introduce the recipients of the 2023 Concrete Atlantic Annual Scholarship Award! 
Given this year in memory of Doug MacLean and Davy Stevenson. 
 
This year we have three deserving young people to share with you.
 
Congratulations to Liam Legge (NL), Kathleen O'Rourke (NL) & Ayden Teas (NS)!
 
Liam, son of BJ and Lisa Legge. BJ works with Stantec in the Newfoundland. Liam graduated from O'Donel High School this spring and will be starting the Engineering Program at Memorial University, NL in September. 
 
Our second recipient is from NL as well. Kathleen O'Rourke graduated from Gander Collegiate and will be attending Memorial University of NL with a joint degree in Bachelor of Music and Commerce in the fall. Kathleen's parents are Kevin and Georgina O'Rourke. Kevin works with H. Wareham & Sons in NL.
 
And lastly Ayden Teas. Ayden recently graduated from Halifax West High School and will be studying in the Bachelor of Computer Science program at Dalhousie University in September. Ayden is the son of Jeff and Denise Teas. Jeff has worked for Ocean Contractors Limited in Dartmouth for many years.
 
The judging committee based their decisions on academic achievement, extra curriculum, charitable activities and an essay submitted by all the candidates. 
 
The board and staff of Concrete Atlantic would like to extend a big thanks to our judges for volunteering their time to adjudicate all of the deserving entries.
 
Once again, Concrete Atlantic would like to congratulate Liam, Kathleen and Ayden. And we would like to take this opportunity to thank all our applicants and wish them the best of luck in the future.

Pam Woodman joined the ACA team in March 2016!  Pam has been the Executive Director for Landscape NovaScotia Horticultural Trades Association since 2008 and worked previously as Program Director for the Environmental Services Association of Nova Scotia for 11 years prior. Pam has over 25 years experience working with not-for-profit organizations, specifically with industry associations.  She holds a diploma in Architectural Technology and another in Land Use Planning and has been designated as a Registered Canadian Professional Manager with the Canadian Professional Manager’s Association. Email Pam Woodman

Taylor Burke joined the ACA team in October 2021 as the Administrative Assistant. A 2007 graduate from Mount Saint Vincent University’s Bachelor of Public Relations program, Taylor brings with her 6+ years of experience working with not-for-profit organizations with a focus on donor/client support, operations/events and communications. When Taylor is not at the office you can typically find her outside in the garden or hiking/hanging out with her two pooches.
